Curriculum vitae

Dr. Rainer Moorfeld studied communications engineering at the Dresden University of Technology and received his doctorate on the performance of new receiver concepts for ultra-wideband communication systems. In the VDI/VDE-IT he works as deputy project manager and senior consultant for the Ministry of Education and Research in the fields of communication systems and IT security. This includes the design and support of the Industrial Communication of the Future funding initiative. Main topics are reliable wireless communication systems, internet of things (IoT) and 5G in the application fields industry, autonomous driving and smart farming. In addition, Dr. Rainer Moorfeld worked for several years at research institutions in the field of communication systems. He has a profound knowledge of mobile radio systems (LTE, 5G), communication infrastructures and (IT) security for communication systems.
