Susanne Ritzmann is a design researcher with a strong focus on sustainability concepts and strategies. She studied design at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, Germany and at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and graduated from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) in product and process design. From 2012 to 2015, she was a doctoral fellow of the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU). In 2017, she wrote her PhD thesis at the Berlin University of the Arts on the relationship between waste and design, bringing the topic of sustainability into design didactics. Susanne Ritzmann conducted research in various projects at the Design Research Lab of the UdK, at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and since 2020 at iit in the fields of digitalization, sustainability and user-centeredness.
