Curriculum Vitae

Stephan Richter works as consultant for VDI/VDE-IT since 2014. He manages research projects focusing on 3D printing technology, e.g. on its impacts on the environment. He is also part of the team that manages the Horizon Scanning for the Office for Technology Assessment of the German Bundestag aiming at monitoring and evaluating current technology trends.

Prior to this, he worked in R&D for Ford on renewable resources and realised a scientific concept for a natural fibre quality-management with the Fibre Industry Development Authority for the Philippines. At the Austrian Institute for Technology in Vienna he was doing research on innovative bio-inspired facades.

During his studies of science and engineering at Bremen University, ETH Zurich and Hamburg University, he examined implants and biomaterials as well as natural fibre composites. His expertise in material science was furthermore required for research on Malaria.
