Curriculum vitae

Katharina Jaik received her PhD in Economics of Education from the Swiss Leading House on the Economics of Education, Firm Behavior and Training Policies at the Universities of Zurich and Bern. Previously, she studied business administration and economics in Basel and Siegen in her bachelor's and master's degrees. Since February 2023, she has been working at the Institute for Technology and Innovation in VDI/VDE Innovation und Technik GmbH as a consultant for education economics and education financing. Here she works in particular on the topics of dual vocational training and digitalization. From 2018 to the beginning of 2023, she worked first as a staff member and then as deputy project manager and lead for technical expertise in the "Donor Committee for Dual Vocational Education and Training (DC dVET)", a joint initiative of the German-speaking donors ADA (Austrian Development Agency), BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation), SDC (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Switzerland) and LED (Liechtenstein Development Service). As a part-time freelance consultant, she has undertaken research and consulting assignments for ILO/CINTERFOR (Montevideo), AHK Mexico and IDB (Inter-American Development Bank, Washington), among others.
