Curriculum vitae

Dr. Sebastian Jakob studied social management, science studies, and higher education research at Kempten University of Applied Sciences and Leibniz University Hanover. He subsequently joined TU Chemnitz, where he worked at the department of internet sociology and new media and participated in a BMBF project on participatory technology design. Back in Hannover at the Graduate School of the Leibniz Center for Science and Society, he completed his dissertation on the legitimation of departmental research institutions in relation to risk regulation. He then spent a year as a library trainee at Braunschweig University Library, during which he studied at the Institute of Library Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Since 2021, Sebastian Jakob has been working as a scientific consultant at iit Berlin, focusing on science and higher education research and the digitalization of academia.
