Effects of Generative AI on a Professional Field and a Professional Association

xAs part of a foresight study, a professional association is working with us to examine the potential impact of generative AI on a specific professional field and on the structures and working methods of the association itself. Generative AI has the potential to create new skills and value for the economy, but also comes with risks such as unintended outcomes or misleading information. While many studies have already analyzed the general effects of AI on technical and engineering professions, the influence of generative AI on specific professional practice and association work remains largely unexplored.

The aim of the study is to anticipate the potential changes brought about by generative AI and to develop recommended courses of action. The study examines how professionals can utilize the potential of this technology and effectively prevent risks at the same time as well as how the professional association itself can use generative AI to further develop its internal structures and work processes and strengthen its ability to innovate.

This foresight study is an important contribution to preparing for the future challenges and opportunities of generative AI, both in the professional context and in the association organization.
