Evaluation ELECTRO POWER Programme

The Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) evaluated the ELEKTRO POWER funding programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) from 2013 until 2016. With this programme, the BMWi aimed in particular to promote new production technologies and processes in the battery sector and in lightweight construction, which can contribute to the rapid transfer of innovations into marketable components, vehicles and systems. An analysis of the programme's impact on the emerging value chain in the field of electromobility was a central component of the evaluation. The Electro Power funding scheme was an important contribution to the implementation of the government's overall electromobility programme. In addition to analyzing the impact of the programme, the evaluation focused on the context of the various measures taken by the German government to promote Germany's development into a leading provider in the field of electromobility.
