Scientific monitoring of the initiative 'ANKOM - Transitions from vocational to higher education' of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

The aim of the initiative is to promote measures for the transition from vocational to higher education. With this initiative, the BMBF is building on the results of the predecessor project ANKOM - Crediting of Vocational Competences to University Studies. In the ANKOM - Transitions project, the scientific support provided by the Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) and the German Centre for Higher Education and Science Research (DZHW) is accompanying and supporting twenty projects in the testing and implementation of supporting measures and structures that promote successful studies while taking into account the life situation of working people. The accompanying research includes the formative evaluation of project progress and implementation processes in the participating private and public universities as well as non-university institutions for further education.
