SmartRegion Schwerin

The aim of the research project is to develop smart solutions/guidelines for an intelligent, innovative and affordable design of the technical infrastructures adapted to the Schwerin region and its surroundings. In order to find out what contribution the Internet of Things/Services can make to maintaining (and improving) the quality of the infrastructures, the project will first identify framework conditions and future trends and, supplemented by expert opinions, present a selection of regional case studies for the energy supply, transportation, water/wastewater, waste and ICT sectors. These approaches, as well as conventional solutions, are then analyzed in terms of their structure, possible deficits and potential. The Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) is supported by Ecologic Institute as subcontractor.
