Strategy for the use of artificial intelligence in Brandenburg businesses

On behalf of the German Brandenburg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Energy (MWAE), the Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) has developed a strategy for the use of artificial intelligence in Brandenburg companies. The aim of the AI strategy is to improve the potential for AI technologies and their use in Brandenburg companies, as well as to minimise risks for companies when introducing AI applications. For this purpose, the current AI actors in the economic and innovation landscape in Brandenburg were identified within the framework of a broad-based, partially automated data evaluation, a SWOT analysis was carried out and fields of action, concrete measures and an implementation roadmap were developed. The focus was on the media and creative industries, the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), the fields of transport, mobility and logistics, as well as the environmental and energy sectors. The AI strategy bundles current pilot measures and activities of the MWAE and is part of a continuous strategy process with which the state of Brandenburg supports the competitiveness of companies in the long term through the targeted use of AI applications. Various key players and experts from companies, universities and non-university research institutions as well as consulting and transfer institutions in the state of Brandenburg were involved in the strategy process.
