Study reform in the engineering sciences: stocktaking, member surveys, recommendations

The study for the Association of German Engineers (VDI) aims to provide and analyze empirically based information on engineering education and the implementation of the European study reform in the engineering sciences. Data from the German Federal Statistical Office and data from the Higher Education Compass of the German Rectors' Conference are used in the study. In addition, the Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) is conducting a survey of students, specialists and managers, graduates and university teachers in the field of engineering sciences. The survey is directed at all VDI members, but other relevant target groups will also be considered. Based on these indicator- and data-based analyses, the VDI will formulate recommendations for the improvement of engineering education and for the further development of the European study reform with regard to engineering sciences.
