Utilization concept and requirements program for the Innovation and Technology Center Industry 4.0 in Berlin Schöneweide (ITZ Industry 4.0)

In this project, the Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) is developing a utilization concept and requirements program for an Innovation and Technology Center Industry 4.0, which directly addresses the declared goal of creating the infrastructural prerequisites for the further development of the Innovation and Technology Center Schöneweide as a reference location for the digitization of the economy. In this context, the content and spatial environment of the Berlin University of Applied Sciences at the Schöneweide location bundles a wide range of potential to close the gap between medium-sized businesses, science and start-ups - and to generate resonance throughout the city and state as a future location for Industry 4.0. In the context of current technology and industry trends, the planned ITZ Industry 4.0 pursues the concrete approach of establishing a spatial platform for content exchange and practical cooperation between established small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), hardware start-ups, developers and manufacturers of I4.0 components as well as the students and lecturers of the HTW (University of Applied Science Berlin).
