Engineering is crucial for the economic success of products and services. However, the criteria for success change: Price, quality and functionality are no longer the only key factors. Instead, engineering increasingly creates the prerequisites for future business models by supplying supporting services and new ways of product up-grades. In the future engineering will accompany the entire lifetime of a product. The study explains the challenges of collaboration in engineering.
