The history of research on the benefits of digital applications in the field of care is relatively young. There is a lack of systematic research approaches for individual nursing technologies as well as for their context-specific use. It is still unclear which criteria and evaluation procedures are suitable for creating robust evidence that adequately considers aspects such as the preservation of independence and the strengthening of self-determination and participation of people
in need of care. The study will therefore contribute to the central question: What are the benefits of assistance technologies for people in need of care and on what does the development of these benefits depend? In the study, the iit examines the modelling of the utilisation context for the application of assistance technologies in care. For this purpose, we develop the current study situation regarding the benefits of assistance technologies and test the application of the benefit model in case studies in different care settings. By reflecting on the findings with a selected group of experts, we want to prepare a basis for a practical benefit assessment of assistance technologies.
