QuaTOQ – Quality of work, employment and employability in the interplay of technology, organisation and qualification
Activities, work content and processes are changing under the influence of digitalisation. This is accompanied by different models of work organisation as well as qualification and competence needs. Although these developments have been dealt with in specialist publications in the recent past, they have hardly been related to each other. For this reason, the research project "QuaTOQ" aims to consider future forms and content of work against the backdrop of increasing mechanisation, but above all digitalisation of service provision and value creation. In addition, forms and content of work are linked quantitatively and qualitatively with questions of employability and innovative capacity. The research project 'QuaTOQ', funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), aims to look at the complex interplay and mutual dependencies of technology, organisation and qualification. On the one hand, the investigations relate to the working world and working conditions of employees in the broadest sense. On the other hand, questions of the labour market and thus aspects of employment relationships and relevant trends are addressed - with regard to sectors or corresponding degrees of digitisation of activities. Since the world of work and the labour market are interrelated, the feasibility of certain organisational models or technological solutions may also depend on the extent to which appropriately qualified personnel are available on the labour market. Conversely, certain forms of work organisation can contribute to employees having better chances of changing jobs if they become unemployed because they have a qualification profile acquired and developed in these forms of organisation.
